本展について
　
本展は関口正浩(1984-2022)の、初個展(2009)から最後の個展(2018)にいたる、およそ10年間に制作された作品のなかから、その画業の特徴がよく現れている作品を選んで展示するものです。
　
基本的に関口の絵画は、シリコン板に油絵具を塗り、それらを生乾きの状態で剥がすこと生まれる被膜をキャンバスに貼り付けるという方法で作られています。絵具の膜による絵画は、絵画の前提（重力、矩形、図と地、人間）を揺さぶるものでした。
　
作家が残した初期の制作メモには、被膜の手触りや艶の詳細な記録や、自作の色に付けた名前など（本展のタイトルはここから取りました）が記されています。メモはまた、独自の体系のもとで経験を積んだ作家が、巨大な被膜を扱えるまでになった過程も教えてくれます。関口は、筆を使わず「仲介をより減らし、作家より遠くで起こる絵」を追求していました。
　
作品との繊細な距離感とともに制作された、大胆で緊張感のある作品群を、ぜひ御覧ください。

This exhibition presents a selection of works created by Masahiro Sekiguchi (1984-2022) over the past 10 years, from his first solo exhibition (2009) to his last (2018).
　
Basically, Sekiguchi's paintings are made by applying oil paints on silicone boards and peeling them off when they are freshly dried, thus creating a film that is attached to the canvas. Painting with a film of paint has shaken the assumptions of painting (gravity, rectangle, figure and ground, and beholder).
　
The artist's early production notes include a detailed record of the texture and sheen of the film, as well as the names he gave to the colors in his work (hence the title of this exhibition). The notes also tell us how the artist, having gained experience under his own system, came to be able to work with huge films. Sekiguchi pursued "painting that occurs at a greater distance than the artist, with less intermediary work," without the use of a brush.
